APNs (Apple Push Notification Service) is a push notification mechanism for iOS apps created by Apple. In this page, we will show what you need to do in order to enable push notifications service for iOS applications with Monaca.
In order to build iOS applications or send iOS push notifications, it is necessary to join the Apple Developer Program .
Step 1: Create a Request File in Monaca Cloud IDE
From the Monaca Backend window, go to Push Notification.
On the top-right-corner, click the
icon and select Push Configuration.
3. Under the iOS section, select Generate Key and Make CSR from Development or Production Push Certificate as you prefer.
4. Enter the name (for the key) and email address (the Apple ID you have registered with the Apple Developer Program) and click Generate.
5. Download the CSR file after it's created.
Step 2: Create push certificates in Apple Developer Program
There are two types of Push certificates that can be issued in iOS Dev Center:
Development SSL Certificate: required for Debug build
Production SSL Certificate: required for either Ad Hoc or Release build.
