# Creating a Certificate

Follow these steps to create a certificate.

This procedure issues a certificate for development.

If you are creating a release certificate, select`Apple Distribution` when prompted to select a certificate type.

1\. Select the Certificates item from the side menu

2\. Click the add button " `+` "&#x20;

3\. Select `App Development` and click the`Continue` button.

4\. Upload the CSR file you created previously and click the`Continue` button

5\. Click the Generate button

The issuance of the certificate is now complete.

Please download the created certificate to upload it to Monaca for use later.
